My color pencil drawing.
My poems about nudibranchs.
Experts from my reflection:
"...I did improve at figuring out what parts of an article are important and what is more of a filler. I know this sounds kind of bad like I won’t read the whole article, but it helps me use my time spent reading most efficiently because instead of reading the whole thing at the same pace, I can skim over what has already been stated or is slightly irrelevant and take my time reading what’s important... However, in the celebration, this hurt me a bit because I had not retained information from the start of the project long term. I only really remembered the basics after spending a long time without thinking about it and focusing on getting other work done. But from this I learned that I need to take better notes because I remember things best by writing them out. So I think I should have taken more notes than I did and even re-write quotes from articles that I read instead of just underlining them and hoping I remember it and get a good understanding. So for future assignments, I’m going to read through the whole thing fairly quickly, go back to the most important parts and take careful notes from there."
"...we gave it a really good effort and learned a lot about decoding text. We did this by using context clues and looking up words we didn't know. These are very valuable skills to have especially going into college where we will be faced with lots of complicated works."
"I really want to work on contributing to the class more though because I’m not very good at raising my hand during class. I can do this by trying to raise my hand once a day, because I want to work my way up to asking questions frequently instead of jumping into asking two or three questions a day."
"In this project I grew even more by learning when I needed to lead and when I need to follow. In groups I have a tendency to either take one role or the other, but this time I alternated between the two depending on what we needed to get done."
